We are the charitable foundation for Magee General Hospital in Magee, Mississippi. Our goal is to raise awareness of the healthcare needs in this rural south central section of the state. HealthTrust operates in an area that has been classified as “medically underserved” by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. We are working hard to come out from under that classification as we seek assistance in providing access to healthcare delivery.
Magee General Hospital is in the process of building a new Medical Center of Excellence, pictured above. This new hospital will replace the existing 70 year old facility and provide equipment and services to support the healthcare needs of this community. HealthTrust serves as an integral part of that process as we use tax-deductible contributions to purchase new, technologically advanced equipment and help offset construction costs.
In addition to providing this form of access to healthcare, HealthTrust also assists financially to provide healthcare for qualifying indigent patients. With a 23% poverty rate in one county alone, many of the uninsured and working poor seek assistance with healthcare at Magee General Hospital.
We need caring individuals such as you to assist in this mission to serve others whose lives we will touch and possibly change through healthcare.
