HealthTrust is the 501 (c) 3 charitable foundation for Magee General Hospital in Magee, Mississippi.  The Foundation was established in 2002 to serve as an outreach ministry of Magee General Hospital to help provide services to the indigent and medically underserved in a multi-county area in rural south central Mississippi. All counties in the hospital’s service area are classified as “medically underserved” by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

We accomplish our goals through three primary resource avenues.  These are tax deductible contributions from individual and corporate donors, grants, and fundraising activities.  As a young organization, HealthTrust has been formed with such expertise and forethought, that in comparison to other foundations of the same age and size, we are exhibiting noteworthy strengths.

Approximately 70% of the employees of Magee General Hospital support the foundation’s mission through payroll-deducted contributions and we have numerous community contributors.

HealthTrust has an excellent Board of Directors and represents a reputable, advancement-oriented hospital in a growing service area.  The Board’s community connections have provided a financial springboard that reaffirms the organization’s commitment to the community and quality healthcare.  The individuals who serve as directors add to the foundation’s credibility and accountability.  Our 12 member board is comprised of leading physicians in our area, healthcare professionals, and proven community leaders.

While the responsibility of securing financial resources to build a new hospital is quite daunting, HealthTrust accepts the challenge with the knowledge that through the generosity of others we will impact the lives of those around us, our neighbors, our friends, and those we may never meet.
