Surgery and Laboratory Equipment The latest, technologically advanced equipment will be needed in the new Medical Center of Excellence as we expand our services. Patient activity is expected to increase and we must be prepared to meet this demand. Our Pedz & Teenz Clinic became fully operational in March 2005. It serves as the only pediatric facility in a 40 mile radius and the first ever in this area. Additional equipment and supplies are needed as our patient base expands and we offer more services. Funds are needed to implement a child obesity program as we work to help address the high obesity rates in Mississippi.
The Medical Pavilion in Raleigh, MS is a means for Magee General Hospital to bring much needed medical care to our neighboring Smith County. This facility, constructed over 15 years ago, was not originally designed to serve as a healthcare center. A full-scale renovation is needed. Indigent Patient Care is a special outreach program to the elderly, children and others who are not financially able to pay for medical care and health education. This much-needed ministry is an opportunity to impact the lives of those around us, our neighbors, and those we may never meet. Eligible recipients must meet certain criteria for assistance.
Physician Recruitment is an on-going effort to bring the brightest and best healthcare providers to our community. These additions to our excellent medical staff are helping Magee General Hospital achieve its vision of excellence. Digital Mammography is needed for early breast cancer detection. With the support of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, 888 free mammograms have been provided for the uninsured in the Magee General Hospital service area over a 5 year period. Join us in the fight against breast cancer by making a gift toward the purchase of this much needed equipment. The current Labor and Delivery Unit functions in severely limited space. When the new unit is completed in the new Medical Center of Excellence, additional equipment will be needed to make the department fully operational. Magee General Hospital’s Labor and Delivery Unit is one of only a few facilities capable of deliveries and associated surgeries and procedures in a multi-county area.
